Dying Akena Hair Extensions at Home

Akena Extensions are made from 100% human hair, which means you can treat them just like your own natural hair.

They can be dyed, heat styled, cut and chemically processed. However, it's crucial to handle them with care to maintain their quality. Our extensions have those gorgeous natural curls thanks to steam treatment, so keep in mind that applying harsh chemicals or going overboard might affect the curl pattern. Take your time and avoid rushing the dyeing process.

Seek the help of a professional hair stylist

If you're unsure or hesitant about dyeing your extensions yourself, we highly recommend seeking the help of a professional hair stylist. They have the expertise in color and extenesions to ensure a successful outcome. Coloring can be tricky, so it's worth getting assistance from someone who knows what they're doing.

Bleach

When it comes to bleaching, we don't recommend doing it yourself. Bleach can be quite damaging to hair, whether it's natural or extensions. Unless you have professional training, it's best to leave bleaching to the experts.

If you really want to bleach your hair extensions, take them to a trusted professional stylist who can handle it properly. Also, remember not to use a developer over 30 Volume when bleaching extensions.

After-care

Now, let's talk about Olaplex, a fantastic system for repairing color-treated hair, be it your natural hair or extensions. It's like magic in a bottle! Olaplex contains a patented ingredient called Bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which actively restores broken bonds in your hair. It targets the damaged sections caused by heat styling, color treatments, bleach, and environmental factors like sun and chlorine. By reconnecting these bonds, Olaplex strengthens your hair strands.

Please note: the first two steps of Olaplex (No.1 and 2) are availiable only to professionals. So if you want to incorporate these steps into your dyeing process, you'll need to visit a professional stylist. Trust us, it's worth it! These steps will help keep you extensions in excellent condition and ensure they last longer.
Good news: Olaplex also offers at-home treatments! Although they don't replace the effects of No.1 and 2, they still provide benefits and help maintain the health of your extensions. You can choose from the at-home systems ranging from No. 3 to 7. Find the one that suits you best and enjoy healthier, more vibrant hair.
